Cape Girardeau Co., MO – Deadly Four-Vehicle Crash Near Scott City

Cape Girardeau County, MO (December 10, 2025) — A multi-vehicle collision left one person dead and several others injured on Monday, December 8, according to authorities with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred after a vehicle crossed the center of Route AB, 4 miles west of Scott City, and triggered a chain-reaction impact involving four vehicles. 

Troopers reported that Vehicle 1 crossed the centerline, striking Vehicle 2 and Vehicle 3. The force of the crash pushed Vehicle 2 across the roadway, where it then collided with Vehicle 4. Emergency responders from multiple agencies arrived quickly, but the driver of Vehicle 1 was pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m. by Cape Girardeau County Deputy Coroner Nick Miller. 

Four other victims were injured and transported to receive medical treatment

The case remains under investigation.
