Hillsboro, MO – One Dead, Two Injured in Crash at Rte A & Rte Z

Hillsboro, MO (January 15, 2026) – A fatal crash occurred on January 13 around noon at the intersection of Route A and Route Z in Jefferson County. The crash involved two vehicles, leaving one person dead and two others injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old male driving a 2005 Ford Escape was eastbound on Route A when he failed to maintain his lane and collided with a westbound 2016 Acura TLX. The impact occurred when the Ford Escape traveled into the path of the Acura, with the front driver’s side of the Ford striking the driver’s side of the Acura.

The 34-year-old female driver of the Acura, identified as a resident of Herculaneum, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. A 4-year-old male passenger in the Acura, also from Herculaneum, suffered serious injuries and was transported to St. Louis Children’s Hospital by ambulance.

The 16-year-old driver of the Ford Escape, from Hillsboro, sustained moderate injuries and was also taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for treatment.
