Saukville, WI – One Killed, Four Injured in Fatal Semi-Truck Crash on I-43

Saukville, WI (November 27, 2025) – A fatal multi-vehicle crash involving a jack-knifed semi-truck shut down Interstate 43 in Saukville on November 26, leaving one person dead and four others seriously injured, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say the crash occurred when a semi-truck, traveling southbound on I-43, lost control due to winter weather conditions. The truck jack-knifed, crossed the median, and struck multiple vehicles traveling northbound.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene and confirmed one person had died as a result of the crash. Four other individuals suffered serious injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The northbound lanes of I-43 were shut down for several hours as investigators worked in hazardous conditions. The collision caused major traffic delays stretching for miles.

Officials cited ice and strong winds as contributing factors to the crash. Another semi-truck incident occurred around the same time in Port Washington, where a jack-knifed truck blocked the southbound lanes of I-43, adding to the traffic disruptions.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office. We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the person who lost their life and wish a full recovery to those injured.

Winter Truck Accidents in Saukville, Wisconsin

Crashes involving semi-trucks during winter weather are especially dangerous and often deadly. The recent tragedy on Interstate 43 in Saukville is a clear reminder of how quickly road conditions can become life-threatening during icy and windy weather.

In Wisconsin, winter driving contributes to thousands of crashes each year. Semi-trucks, due to their size and weight, are at greater risk of jack-knifing or losing control when roads are slick. When these large vehicles cross medians or strike passenger cars, the results are often catastrophic.

Victims of winter truck crashes may suffer long-term injuries, emotional trauma, or the devastating loss of a loved one. If the crash was caused by driver negligence, poor vehicle maintenance, or unsafe speeds for weather conditions, victims and their families may have the right to pursue legal action.

A qualified wrongful death lawyer can investigate the cause of the crash, identify responsible parties, and help families seek compensation for medical bills, funeral costs, and other damages.
