‍Johnson County, MO (March 16, 2026) – Two people suffered injuries after a serious two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning, March 15, on US Highway 50 in Johnson County.

The crash happened at about 3:15 a.m. along eastbound US Highway 50 just west of Powell Gardens. Emergency units responded after reports of a collision involving a Buick SUV and a Ford F-350 pickup truck pulling a trailer.

Investigators said the Buick SUV struck the trailer attached to the Ford F-350 while both vehicles traveled eastbound on the highway. The impact caused the Buick to lose control and leave the roadway.

Officials reported that the SUV veered off the right side of the highway and struck an embankment. The vehicle then overturned before catching fire.
