Risks Pedestrians Face at Urban Intersections
Urban intersections carry some of the highest risks for pedestrians, particularly during evening hours when visibility is reduced. Crashes at busy crossroads like Poplar Avenue and Cleveland Street can happen quickly and with little warning. Factors such as vehicle speed, driver inattention, and poor lighting all contribute to the danger pedestrians face every day.
Pedestrians struck by vehicles often suffer catastrophic injuries, even at relatively low speeds. Common outcomes include traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, broken bones, and internal bleeding. When a pedestrian is hit at a busy intersection, the severity of injuries is often significant, and recovery — when possible — can be a long and difficult process.
Families who lose a loved one in a fatal pedestrian crash, or those left dealing with serious injuries, may have questions about what options are available to them. A wrongful death lawyer in Tennessee can review the details of the incident, explain how liability may be assessed, and clarify what types of compensation may apply under Tennessee law. Legal guidance can help families understand their situation without having to navigate the process alone.
