North Fond du Lac, WI – 14-Year-Old Girl Killed, Three Others Injured in Pioneer Rd Collision

North Fond du Lac, WI (February 17, 2026) – A tragic two-vehicle accident on Pioneer Road claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl and left three others hospitalized on Monday afternoon, February 16. Emergency responders were called to the scene south of Mockingbird Lane at approximately 3:50 p.m.

Preliminary reports from the North Fond du Lac Police Department indicate that a sedan traveling northbound on Pioneer Road crossed the center line for reasons still under investigation. This resulted in a head-on collision with a southbound pickup truck.

A 14-year-old girl from Fond du Lac, who was a passenger in the sedan, was rushed to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Two other occupants of the sedan and the driver of the pickup truck were also transported for medical care; all three are currently reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities noted that all individuals involved are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of the girl who lost her life.

What Are a Family's Rights After a Fatal Accident in Wisconsin?

When a life is lost due to a fatal car crash, the family can often seek help through a "wrongful death" claim. It is a way to use insurance to cover sudden hospital bills, funeral costs, and the massive emotional hole left behind.

When a car crosses into oncoming traffic, insurance companies usually see that driver as the one responsible for the crash. In Wisconsin, the driver's insurance is responsible for paying for the injuries of their passengers and the people in the other vehicle.

If a family member was a passenger in the car that caused the crash, they are still entitled to support. These claims are designed to help families handle the financial stress of a tragedy without having to pay for everything out of their own pockets.

Dealing with the loss of a child or a serious injury is an overwhelming burden. You shouldn’t have to spend your time arguing with insurance adjusters or figuring out which hospital bills to pay first. Having a legal team on your side to gather the police reports and talk to the insurance companies for you can give your family the space you need to grieve and support each other. It’s about making sure your rights are protected while you focus on what really matters.
